Town Bar & Grill Restaurant

You’d nearly miss Town wandering about Dublin as it is tucked away down a flight of stairs in the old cellars of Mitchell’s Wine shop on Kildare Street. The decor is modern in the New York style. The restaurant looks a little formal at first, probably because of the nice crisp white table cloths and napkins. Happily that thought is soon dispelled by the staff who are very friendly and welcoming, as is the atmosphere.

The food is modern New York Italian style. I had roast Butternut Squash with Beetroot and Goat’s Cheese for starters, followed by Hake with Broccoli Spears on a Cassoulet and then Sticky Toffee Pudding. Oh, I nearly forgot to mention we started off with a tiny cup of soup, mushroom, which smelled delicious and tasted absolutley devine. I imagine the idea is to stimulate the palette, and it did the job exceedingly well. The food at Town is georgous, it looks lovely on the plate, smells wonderful and tastes amazing.

Good wine, great food, excellent company – what more would you want from life? A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
