Volunteer in Lucan
There is loads going on in and around Lucan so you should be able to find an organisation to volunteer with and have some fun in the process.
My recommendations;
Kerala House Carnival is a family fun day organised by the Irish Malayali Club. The event has taken place in the Lucan Centre at the top of Primrose Lane for the last number of years. Outdoors at the event is Family Fun, Children’s fun games, Face Painting, Bouncing Castle, Ball Throw, Penalty Shoot Out, Tug of War, Mega Thiruvathira, Cooking Competition, Food, and other stalls. Indoors at the event is the Magic show, Pet show, drawing competition, and Malayalam writing competition. On Stage at the event, Welcome address, Dance, Margam Kali, Ganamela, Chendamelam, Live bands, and much more. It was so much fun volunteering at the carnival, we were up at the crack of dawn, had lovely breakfast in Ryans Village Cafe, then we helped putting up barriers, marking out car parking spaces, managing the bouncing castles, and of course, our expertise, crowd management in the afternoon. Probably the best part, for us, was the over twenty stands of Indian food, to die for! Email keralahousedublin@yahoo.ie to volunteer.
