Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds live @ Dublin Castle

It’s got to be THE live concert of the year …. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds live in the open air in Dublin Castle’s Upper Castle Yard. Nick and the Seeds are performing Saturday 3rd May 2008 headlining the Heineken Green Energy festival. The festival is now in it’s thirteenth thirteenth year and is held over the Irish May Bank Holiday weekend.

Nick and the Seeds are on tour promoting their fourteenth album DIG!!! LAZARUS, DIG!!!,, which was released March 3rd 2008 on Mute. The album was recorded by Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey, Jim Sclavunos, Thomas Wydler, James Johnston and Conway Savage over the summer of 2007 at London’s State of the Ark studio.

I’ve heard the album and it sounds great. I don’t have a copy yet, but plan to pick one up during my travels in and out of Airports over the next week or two.

Last time I saw Nick was in “Came so far for Beauty” at The Point Depot during the Dublin Theatre Festival. He’s been back to Ireland since then, but no matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to get to a gig. This May Bank Holiday weekend I had planned to be in Paris …. Nick or Paris ….. hmmmm lets see now …. NICK of course. Paris is now cancelled and I’m looking forward to a great open air gig at Dublin Castle.

If you don’t have tickets yet, then I’m sorry to say, you’ve missed out because the show is SOLD OUT.
