Shanghai 30's is the best Chinese Restaurant in Oxford. I've been in Oxford over two years and believe it or not I didn't think there was a Chinese Restaurant in the Town. I don't know how I missed it, as I look at it every weekend when I finish my long walk through Christ Church Meadows along The Isis (The Thames) and out onto St. Aldates. As I come out of the gates of Christ Church college, right there across the Street is Shanghai 30's. This evening Chinese was on the menu as I had my Brother, his Wife and my Niece visiting me in Oxford and they love Chinese food. Shanghai 30's is not a dissapointment, it is a Michelin recommended restaurant, and the food is delicious. The setting is even better, 15th Century Oxford house. Lovely. You'd expect to run into Lord Sebastian Flyte and Charles Ryder on their social expeditions away from Christ Church and Hertford. Straight out of Brideshead Revisited. I love it.
